Ipinag-utos ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa militar ang tuluyang pagwasak ng Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) kabilang na ang legal fronts nito.
Sinabi ng Pangulo sa kanyang pagbisita sa Camp General Manuel T. Yan sa Mawab, Compostela Valley na hindi siya kakagat sa holiday ceasefire ng mga komunista.
Aniya, sinisira ng kilusang komunista ang bansa at kapag hindi naagapan ay ang mga anak at apo ng mga sundalo na magiging sundalo rin ang papatayin ng mga ito.
“Law and order means you have to destroy, not really fight, but destroy the Communist Party of the Philippines, including its legal fronts and infrastructure.”
“Unless we are able to destroy everyone of them, ang ating mga anak o apo ninyo ganun pa rin ang haharapin. And many of them will be soldiers and many of them will die without seeing the outcome of what would eventually be the Republic of the Philippines,” anang Pangulo.
“You have to destroy them. Destroy them. I assume full responsibility. Destroy them because they are destroying us. The avowed claim is to overthrow the government.”
“We do not subscribe to their ceasefire. We are ready for anything and I said change your paradigm. Do not fight them. Destroy them. Destroy them. Kill them,” dagdag ng Pangulo.
Matatandaang nagdeklara ng 5 araw na holiday ceasefire ang mga komunista habang inanunsyo naman ng Malacañang na hindi ito susundan ng gobyerno.
Maliban sa CPP-NPA-NDF, inatasan rin ng Pangulo ang militar na pulbusin at lansagin rin ang Abu Sayyaf Group.
