MANILA – President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Thursday dismissed rumors circulating on social media about Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr.’s alleged resignation from the Department of Defense, attributing them to “desperate” individuals attempting to stir conflict and division in the country.
During a media interview in Navotas City, Marcos laughed off the claims and urged the public not to be deceived by such misinformation.
“Fake, fake, fake, fake, fake news ‘yan,” Marcos emphasized.
He pointed out that those spreading these false reports are merely inventing stories to create chaos. “These desperate people are making up stories just to cause trouble. They don’t offer anything, they don’t help, and they contribute nothing to the lives of Filipinos but division and disruption.”
The President urged everyone to trust only verified and credible sources of information, especially when it comes to social media.
“Be cautious and scrutinize carefully what you read online,” he advised.
Marcos reiterated that Malacañang is the only reliable source for any updates regarding Cabinet movements.
“If there are changes in the Cabinet or the government, we will be the ones to announce it. Not just anyone who posts online. They don’t know anything about it. We will make the announcement,” Marcos stated.
“As of today, there are no changes,” he concluded. (PNA)
