Please don’t let the Marcoses succeed in their historical revisionism.

For the longest time in DepEd and the shortest time as DepEd Secretary, VP Inday Sara Duterte has made significant reforms. It’s only during her tenure that the 7-point priority intervention in support of the MATATAG Agenda was implemented.
These are the following strands:

1.Finance: Plans to train employees on loan management and host financial literacy programs for DepEd personnel and learners.

2. School Infrastructure and Facilities: Focuses on constructing and rehabilitating classrooms, building disaster-resilient schools, retrofitting classrooms, and providing electrification and connectivity programs.

3. Administration: Aims to digitalize forms, enhance systems, and support parametric and indemnity insurance for public schools.

4. Curriculum and Teaching: Strengthens literacy and numeracy programs, reviews Mother Tongue-Based Multilingual Education, digitizes national assessments, and enhances inclusive education programs.

5. Human Resources and Organizational Development: Develops quality assurance, upscales the National Educators’ Academy of the Philippines, and promotes knowledge sharing with partners.

6. Operations: Plans to provide mobile medical and dental clinics, enhance school-based feeding programs, protect learner rights, support mental health programs, develop learner and youth programs, and implement the farm-to-table nutrition project.

7. Procurement: Seeks to improve procurement processes through continuous capacity building and digitalization.

These strands are why your issues with GSIS are being resolved now, administrative tasks have been massively reduced, a Calamity Fund for teachers has been established, a policy on Teaching Overload Pay has been issued, and efforts are being made to secure ample budget allocation for teacher overtime pay.

VPSD was the reason why the unnecessary classroom decorations were removed, saving you significant budget. She also committed to raising the cap for service credits from 15 to at least 30 days, proposed health insurance for teachers and non-teaching personnel, and studied a long-term salary increase. The salary increase requires an enabling law, which is the responsibility of Congress— that’s why it is not yet implemented.

It is only during VP Sara’s tenure that the K to 10 curriculum was improved to help both teachers and students focus on the core subjects, and a senior high school curriculum revision will be launched very soon.

You know what, she aims to establish a website to provide free legal assistance to teachers regarding their loan contracts and an automated system for objective teacher hiring and promotion.

And please don’t forget, it’s because of VP Sara that you teachers have a 30-day straight break without volunteer work. Remember that!

Nagtatrabaho siya ng maayos. Sinayang siya ni Marcos.
Her resignation in DepEd is not a sign of defeat— it’s a resistance to the gross incompetence and mind-blowing greed of the current administration.

Patuloy po kayong maging MATATAG tungo sa isang bansang makabata, batang makabansa. 🦅🦅🦅

Love,
Tio
