President Rodrigo Duterte uncovered on Thursday that the wellspring of illicit medications in Bicol Region is the brother by marriage of Vice President Leni Robredo.

He put forth the expression amid his discourse at the 49th Charter Day festivity of Mandaue City, saying that he would “remain by his assertion” that Naga City, the main residence of Robredo is a shabu hotbed.

As per him, Jose “Butch” Manalastas Robredo who was the greatest medication ruler in the Bicol Region which presented the shabu in their city.

Robredo was also accused by former Naga City councilor Luis Ortega of being involved in illegal drugs.

“Yung brother-in-law [ni Vice President Leni Robredo] ang nagdala ng drugs doon sa Bicol, totoo yan.” Duterte said in his speech.

Duterte and Robredo’s word war started when President said that he cannot give his current position to his Vice President because he believes that Leni cannot solve the drug problem in the Philippines.

He also said that he prefered a military to lead the country than giving the position to Robredo if he resigned as President.

Butch Robredo’s alleged involvement in illegal drugs was first exposed last year by the website “We Are Collective”.

According to the website, Robredo traveled to America to escape after President Duterte won the elections.

The blog even posted the exact address of the Robredo family in Pennsylvania and gave hint to the netizen that the informant of the blog was close to VP Leni.

Meanwhile, supporters of the Vice President questioned how a completely blind man like Mr. Robredo can operate illegal drug operation. They also downplayed the accusations against the Vice President.

As of writing, Butch Robredo is not yet speaking on the accusations of President Duterte against him.
