President Rodrigo Duterte sat down in front of National TV around 3:30pm today. The national discussion was hosted by Presidential Legal Counsel Sal Panelo.

Issue on Critics

In response to those who are saying that Duterte is using his power to silence his critics, the president said,

“I have yet to sign anything ordering the silencing of anyone, especially the critics.”

Issue On Trillanes

Regarding the other issue of the amnesty of Trillanes, he said that it was SolGen Calida who found that out, and since it was a mistake, then it will not be tolerated.

“Yung kay Trillanes, may nakita si SolGen Calida na mali. Pag mali, mali. Walang magagawa yan”

He also added that the amnesty was a glaring mistake of the Aquino administration.

Issues On The AFP

Other issues that were tackled were that of Joma Sison, Magdalo and the AFP. The president thinks that they are combining forces to stop him.

He also said that the members of the AFP who feels that Trillanes had helped them in any way are free to go to him.

And the addressed Trillanes and asked him what he had done for the AFP.

Issues In Mindanao

When the talk came to Martial Law, he said that the criminality went down in Mindanao since Martial Law started. He also added that the Bangsamoro Law will not satisfy everyone in Mindanao, that is why he is talking with Nur Misuari.

Other issues

The issue regarding the rice shortage was also addressed. The president said that the issue was man-made. We have enough rice but we are importing it.

He also added that NFA Administrator Jason Aquino has asked to be relieved from his position.

The oil prices are because of the international play on oil.

Finally, he answered the issue about inflation. He said that he is not denying it.

“I am not denying because everybody in this planet Earth is suffering. We all have our problems. Pataas ng pataas talaga yang inflation rate. Now as I said, the economic managers are working on it.”
